Time and Place: Kyoto, Japan - amidst the Kyoto Imperial Palace, year 1860, 5 years after it was rebuilt due to a fire tragedy
Current Season: Spring
What has been happening:
A mysterious illness has befallen the crown prince, and he's been holed up in his room for several months. Only a select few of the higher ups, any doctors, along with his family know what really has been happening, and things have been kept tightly hushed. The prince only goes outside when night falls, and those who are curious enough (when they shouldn't be) have created rumors that the prince's usual dark black hair has turned all white, and that his eyes glow red. But the emperor assures that they must have been seeing things, because why would his very sick son be out and about when he should be on bed rest?

A brief background of who/what your character is/doing: Hand selected by the emperor himself, you will be apart of the servants who tend directly to the prince. The rules are: you are only to attend to him during the day, as night falls, no one must disturb his rest. You've been treating him for about 2 months now, and the only thing you've noticed is how pale his complexion has become, the constant aches and pain he seems to be in, along with how lethargic he has become. One night, after finishing your rounds, you find out that there is more to the prince's illness than you previously believed.

Family: The emperor and empress, and one younger sister.
Background: Before illness befell the young prince, his life was fairly normal for a prince at that time. With his studies, combat training, fun and leisure around the palace- he had everything he could ever want. Soft and pampered some first described him, but as he grew, they truly began to see how skilled he was, things could rarely get past him as he was very alert and aware of his surroundings. Not to mention he was on par with the head of the samurai at the time, earning respect amongst their men. An excellent strategist in times of war, his father trusted his judgement more than the highest commander sometimes.
Likes/Dislikes:
Likes: When the Sakura tree blossoms, the sound of the rain hitting the roof, as he is able to lounge about the porch and take in the refreshing cool air during the summer months. He also enjoys some literature here and there, although most days he would like to be out there training, sparring with some of his friends who belong to the samurai who protect his family. He also treats his katana with utmost care, and is very proud of it whenever he is able to carry it on his hip.
Dislikes: Colder seasons, snow, how the sun goes down so quickly. He doesn't prefer darker days, and hates how long nights are.
Kinks: Definitely doesn't mind being the dominant one in the relationship, prefers to control the situation and loves seeing his partners a blushing mess. But with the right partner (to which he has yet to find), they could get him blushing and embarrassed enough to be a temporary bottom. But if you tell anyone that he can be like this- he'll promise to kill you.

Hime

Age: 20
Height: 5'2"
Weight: 140 lb
Gender: Female
Race: Human
Appearance:
You must be 18 years or older + signed in to see attachments to this post
Family: None
Background: Hime is of a slightly mysterious background. She has been working in the Imperial household from a young age despite having basically no known connections. She is not of peasant stock, having the grace and education of a noblewoman. She claims no ties to any of the families of the ruling clans. Her duties are light, giving her time to educate herself with reading, practice of music, and other skills. She is shown respect by the other staff, who seem unsure how to relate to someone who has no specific jurisdiction and does not give out orders, yet also seems to have the ear of those in at the highest level of the Imperial palace.
Likes/Dislikes:
Likes: Playing music (especially flute), writing and reciting poetry, springtime
Dislikes: Menial tasks, cruelty toward those who are weak, violence (except in the defense of the innocent)
Kinks: Definite bottom/sub, seeks to please and obey, seeks wholesome connections.

It was nearly sunset, and Yukio knew that the current attending servant was finishing up her duties of taking care of him for the day. He was currently sitting on the porch, leaned against a pillar as his unusual blue eyes overlooked the koi pond that resided next to his room. He was only out of his room right now because the servant was tidying up his room as she was required to, although she wouldn't have to do much. The prince was very capable in keeping his room clean- despite his weakened state.

As he watched the fish swim in their usual pattern, he could hear the servant behind him shake out his sleeping mat, and a then he heard a few more sweeping motions of the broom that she had carried with her earlier upon arriving. He knew that this had to be done, because his original illness-- any dust, stale air- nothing was good like that for his lungs. The reason being- is that he had caught tuberculosis about five years prior. Thankfully at first it had been a mild case, but upon pushing himself further in his training.. lead to over exertion of his body.

As his condition had worsened, one of the doctors that had been seeing him had come with a new medicine called the water of life, to which he claimed that it could possibly heal the prince. Yukio remembers his family urging and advising him to take it- which annoyed him, as he already wanted to take it because he didn't want to suffer like this anymore. Yet the doctor did warn him that taking this medicine, he would in turn become something else- into what was called a 'fury' or in better terms, demon like. He would not be human anymore, and there was no real guarantee that he would be healed.

But by taking that.. which was almost a year ago now- he knew his tuberculosis had become better, but wasn't fully gone. But..that was because he had refused to succumb to the diet he was required to take- blood. Be it animal, human.. instead he was taking an elixir that proved as a suppressor for his body's needs and desires. Unfortunately though, in the first few months of his condition, a servant nearly lost their life because of Yukio - the servant had accidentally cut themselves and Yukio had scented the fresh blood and his form had changed to the white hair, red, glowing eyes and sharpened teeth.

There he had tasted human blood. He had heard them cry out for him to stop- and it wasn't until he was subdued and confined did his blood lust go down.

Now though, he had much better control. But he still drank very little- not enough to sustain himself but enough to curb his urges.. and what he did drink only came from the animals that were killed to prepare the main meals he received normally. He knew he could fully and quickly heal himself of the tuberculosis if he just...

So. At night, when he was left alone, whenever he stepped out in the moonlight, his hair would turn white and his eyes turned to their glowing red. And there he would go hunt, but again, he told himself only animals- and no more than to keep his urges down, not to fully satisfy or heal his body. He couldn't.

Yukio could feel that hunger returning. Only suppressing it wasn't doing him any favor, and he felt very tired. He hoped that the servant was almost done, so that he could rest before going out for the night.

(sorry for the mountain of text! Just wanted to establish more of a background for him, you don't have to match this at all)

Hime moved quickly and efficiently around the room, shaking the mat, refreshing the flowers, and making numerous other small changes and touches to keep the room feeling fresh. She didn't like that she'd been assigned tasks proper for a common maid, but the situation had been explained to her in some detail. She understood the need for complete secrecy as well as why she was the one who needed to care for the prince in every way. He was cut off from all other staff, especially in the evenings when it was getting closer to the time of his afflictions. She moved to the doorway, bowing softly as she approached. "Everything is finished. Are you in need of anything else?" She waited at a respectful distance, but her eyes flicked over him in a keen glance, reading a rising distress in the young prince.

"No," he said curtly, Yukio not looking back to her. His gaze was hardening more and more by the minute, as if he didn't want anyone to read his expression. He could feel Hime's eyes on him, and could sense the curiosity peaking, even if it was very little. He used to never be this way with the servants, especially those with statuses like Hime herself, but with his condition, he worried he would lash out again like he did before. So he had to keep himself away. And not only with the servants, but with everyone else too- which meant his friends as well, who couldn't understand fully what was going on. In truth he was very lonely, but knew it had to be this way, he could hear his father now, lecturing him that until they found a way to reverse the medicine's effects.. he would have to continue living like this for now.
